academics

All Souls is constantly improving and enhancing all facets of our learning environment.  We maintain high standards; therefore, we must progress in every aspect on our campus.  Our advancements range from curriculum to technology to playground equipment.  We live in a dynamic world so we MUST adapt and move forward…always.

All Souls Catholic School’s rigorous academic curriculum is above average.  All Souls strives to challenge every child, whether they are in Kindergarten or 8th Grade.  Our students score in the top percentages nationwide on every standardized test taken.  With the National Average being 50%, All Souls scores range from 71%-86% which is astounding.

The academic program is constructed throughout the grades in such a way as to provide a gradual, coordinated and personalized process of learning. The faculty's daily commitment is toward enabling the individual student to become an integrated Christian person.

Instruction is provided in the following basic curricular areas: Art, Computer Education, Spanish, Language Arts (including Reading/Literature, English/Writing, and Spelling), Mathematics, Music, Physical Education, Technology, Religion (including Sacramental Preparation and Human Sexuality), Science, and Social Studies.

Teachers employ a variety of techniques in classroom instruction, including some traditional methods as well as innovative means of teaching.  Teachers utilize variations on cooperative learning, hands on activities, and other whole language techniques as situations arise.  Many studies have shown that students can be more successful learners if they are taught according to their preferences for learning. Teachers utilize a variety of approaches in order to meet the needs of the students.

faith

Educators at All Souls Catholic School are called by Jesus and the community to provide a spiritual foundation by incorporating Christian values in daily activities and lessons.  Through character education, children are furnished with the tools necessary to make responsible choices, thereby fostering positive self-esteem and a Christian attitude.

The children at All Souls are also given the benefit of attending Mass together as a school at least twice a month which provides for a multitude of teachings.

technology

All Souls understands the need for technology in the school.  We have 30 computers in our Technology Research Center, at least six computers in each classroom and a computer at each Science Lab station.  Every computer uses Microsoft products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Every computer is also set with internet ready capabilities to further the research process for many projects.  The science lab is outfitted with a large screen TV, video scope, and VCR; and the Technology Research Center is equipped with an LCD projector to assist in instruction and student presentations.  All of this technology makes curriculum integration a reality.

All Souls students research topics for various reports, create graphs, write reports and present their reports via PowerPoint presentations.  In the Science Lab, students utilize computers to write up their labs and communicate their experiment results in a more advanced method.

Our goal is to provide the children with the highest quality of education possible with the latest technology available.  Our upgraded facility not only allows for the children’s education level to be enhanced but it also allows for them to gain greater autonomy on many projects.
