TECHNOLOGY

At All Souls Catholic School, the use of technology exists across all grade levels.

In 2011, 32 state-of-the-art computers were purchased for the Technology Resource Center (TRC). A secure server ensures the highest level of protection.

In 2010, Netbooks were introduced for middle school students to access online textbooks, take notes, submit homework and take exams. Students use Netbooks to access the internet for research projects with a secure filtering engine.

Students have the ability to collaborate at a new level.   Accessing common documents with ease improves efficiency.  Writing ability has increased with the use of “Writing Road Map,” an online writing program.

All grades have access to the Science Lab and Smart Board Technology.

There are at least six computers in each classroom and a computer at each Science Lab station.  Every computer uses Microsoft products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Every computer is also set with internet ready capabilities to further the research process for many projects.  The science lab has a Smart Board and the TRC is equipped with an LCD projector and a Smart Board to assist in instruction and student presentations.  Data projectors are available in all classrooms.  All of this technology makes curriculum integration a reality.

All Souls students research topics for various reports, create graphs, write reports and present their reports via PowerPoint presentations.  In the Science Lab, students utilize computers to write up their labs and communicate their experiment results in a more advanced method.

Our goal is to provide the children with the highest quality of education possible with the latest technology available.  Our upgraded facility not only allows for the children’s education level to be enhanced but it also allows them to gain a greater autonomy on many projects.
